Fantastiska sånger fick vi höra när Eva Hillered och Patrick Rydman avslutade sin sommarkurs tillsammans med fem skickliga deltagare. Det blev en lyckad avslutning med en del av de nyskrivna sångerna i olika stilar, som framfördes av deltagarna och uppskattades av publiken. Kvällen avslutades i månskenet på terrassen med en stämningsfull song circle.

Eva Hillered and Peter Sund, musician and producer, are fixing a very nice outdoor studio to begin two weeks of recording at Lendas East Hill. Five years ago, they made the amazing CD ”New Me” together.

Suddenly in my social media world, I was exposed to the author Susan Cain and her book Bittersweet – it had become #1 New York Times bestseller. She reveals in her book the power of a bittersweet, melancholic outlook on life, and why our culture has been so blind to its value.

I felt seen,  and confirmed. Almost like a kid who was finally recognized to have a value, since this kind of music is what I have created my whole life.

As a younger artist  always suffered because I thought I was not entertaining enough. I believed I was too serious. I thought people  just wanted to listen to happy, cool, and very easygoing music.

My music has always been a healing force in my sometimes very confused and scattered artistic life.  And when I red in Susan Cain’s book that it is actually proven that the bittersweet songs are the songs people return to over and over. They do not have an expiration date. They have the power  to make us feel happy and embrace the sadness in the same moment.

So I have started to build a Spotifylist. With some great bittersweet Americana songs and a few of mine that I belive fit. (My latest full CD New Me was named as one of the five best Americana albums in 2018)
